In this all-levels class, students will be introduced to the expressive possibilities of clay through figurative sculpture, with a focus on hands, faces, and the human form. Using hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab construction, students will learn how to translate observations and ideas into three-dimensional forms. We will explore a variety of approaches to figurative work, share ideas, and build skills in proportion, gesture, and surface detail. Students will work alongside other inspiring artists and enjoy new demonstrations each week.
