Alley Cat Studios offers several Pottery Classes to choose from. Pottery classes are open to anyone ages 16 and up. Date Night Pottery Classes are single events while Beginning, Intermediate, Mixer and Hand-building Classes meet once a week for 4 weeks with options to come in and practice throughout the week at no additional cost. In each class, we supply all students with everything needed to get started, including clay, tools, equipment and our top notch, celebrated professional instruction from working artists. This is the best deal in the city!

This means you will receive quality, hands-on, individual attention throughout the course from a professional instructor. What to Bring

• We suggest wearing some clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. Sometimes the clay can splash around and get things messy, an apron is handy at times.

• All clay and tools will be provided. Just come ready to meet new friends, enjoy a creative time.

Classes include:

Date Night Pottery Class

This one-time pottery event happens on Saturdays of each month. Clay and tools provided. Guests will create their very own pottery on the potter’s wheel, a one of a kind experience that must be shared with that special someone! Students may choose to return during our Glaze Night Event and finish pottery for a small glazing cost.

Beginning Pottery Class

We will teach you all the basics from start to finish! Build confidence while learning a new, fun and creative skill. Monthly classes start new each month, can be taken consecutively. Each class meets once a week for 4 weeks. We offer evening and morning options. All clay and tools provided.

Intermediate Pottery Class

OK, so you got the basics down! Are ready for the next challenge? Our next level pottery course builds on the skills learned in beginning pottery taking your fundamentals to the next level. In this class we will work on refinement of form, theories of function, recognize and know how to avoid common mishaps, and begin to work towards a unique, individual style

Beginning Hand-Building

In this class students will be introduced to the infinite possibilities of clay hand-building. Without the use of a pottery wheel, students will learn about functional and sculptural forms, discuss ancient and contemporary techniques, share design ideas and work alongside other amazing student artists! Students will discover a new joy each week as they create using the immediacy of pinch technique, coil forms and slab construction.
